I feel like file sharing back in the windows XP days was way simpler than. Forget the Network neighborhood that doesn't work very well try to.
I have a peer to peer network, one PC is running Windows 10 Pro, the other is Windows 10 home, both are on build 1803. I am having difficulty getting them to share files. I have gone through and tried most of the solutions online and no success. ThePC's can 'see' each other, but when I try to access the other machine, it tells me I don't have permission. The folder i'm sharing is set to 'everyone' has access, both machines are using local accounts. It worked fine before the update, andits too late to roll back.

However, I could still continue to access it after having shutdown and restarted theWindows Server 2019 whichis a virtual machine running in Hyper-V on a Windows 10 Pro v1809 host computer. So I have not needed to repeat the NIC fix.
Same issue here. Windows server 2019 network shares not accessible from anywhereSpent quite a lot of time specially after fresh update to 1809 wondering what my cause the issue. My symptoms were:1) Cant open any share from other machines in our domain XXX.XXX.XXXShare1 or XXX.XXX.XXX.C$2) Locally on the host I could open and see the XXX.XXX.XXXShare1 one example but if I try to connect it have me that its either not active share or either wrong name/ipWhat resolved it was going to the network adapter and UNMARK the checkbox for File and printer Sharing on Microsoft Networks. Then mark again the checkbox and it fixed it. It seems this re-check - check pushed the proper config.Thank you MikroByte for sharing your fix here with us!
